Influencer marketing: what trends in 2024?

As every year draws to a close, our influencer agency is conducting a brief forecasting exercise to try and outline the main trends to come next year in the field of influencer marketing. Which existing practices will continue to gain importance, and which new ones will emerge? Let's take a look at the 2024 influencer marketing trends!

The dominance of video content, and in particular live streaming

Unsurprisingly, video content will continue to dominate influencer marketing in 2024. Videos allow influencers to forge stronger connections with their audiences, offering an immersive and engaging experience. More than ever next year, brands will need to invest in creative , high-quality video campaigns (and perhaps even YouTube Shorts) to stand out in an increasingly competitive landscape.

It's also worth noting that theuse of live video is set to grow in 2024. Live videos allow for real-time interaction with the audience, which can strengthen authenticity and build trust. With this format, brands can, for example, organize live Q&A sessions, product demonstrations, or special events to engage their audience more directly.

The growing rise of micro-influencers

With their smaller number of subscribers but higher engagement, micro-influencers will continue to gain popularity in 2024. Already in 2023, brands increasingly turned to these content creators to reach more targeted and authentic audiences.

Micro-influencers offer a more personal relationship with their audience, which strengthens trust and the impact of their recommendations on consumers. Furthermore, the fact that many of them operate within niche markets brings unparalleled expertise and content quality.

More ethics and transparency

Ethics. and transparency will be key elements of influencer marketing in 2024. Indeed, consumers are increasingly aware of partnerships between brands and influencers and logically, they demand greater transparency

To maintain a relationship of trust with them, brands will therefore need to be transparent about paid collaborations and partnerships. For their part, influencers will also need to demonstrate integrity in their work if they want to maintain credibility with their communities.

The importance of diversity and inclusion

Following on from the previous values, diversity and inclusion will also be key points that brands will need to further integrate into their influencer strategy in 2024. Consumers are looking for brands and influencers that represent the diversity of society. To achieve this, brands will need to ensure that their influencer campaigns reflect this diversity by working with influencers from different ethnic and socio-cultural backgrounds and promoting inclusive messages.

Artificial intelligence and augmented reality

These are two areas we've been discussing for a while now.Artificial intelligence and augmented reality will be increasingly integrated into influencer marketing campaigns. Brands will be able to personalize their content using AR filters, chatbots, and AI-powered recommendations to offer a unique experience to their audiences. Thanks to these technologies, we can imagine influencer videos becoming even more personalized and interactive.

The rise of influencer management platforms

will Influencer platforms also play an increasingly important role in 2024. Why? Simply because they allow brands to manage their influencer marketing campaigns much more precisely and efficiently. For example, these platforms offer advanced features such as data analytics and payment management, thus facilitating collaboration between brands and influencers.

Influencers are becoming even more active in creating brand content

With increasingly strong and lasting relationships between brands and influencers, we can also expect the latter to have more and more freedom to promote a product or service. As a result, by 2024, it's highly likely that influencers will be even more invested in shaping the brand narratives they collaborate with.

This “carte blanche” effect could bring a very interesting boost of creativity to future influencer campaigns, for example through even more personalized and interactive ephemeral stories or, on the contrary, longer format videos allowing for more in-depth storytelling and the exploration of more complex subjects.

Influencer marketing trends in 2024: what you need to know

In 2024, influencer marketing will continue to play a major role in the strategies of brands and businesses. In terms of content formats, we can expect a year full of surprises and creativity, with videos of course, but not only that. Ephemeral stories and podcasts will also stand out.

Good news also for micro-influencers, whose potential for authenticity and level of expertise continue to attract brands. For them, there are some truly great partnership opportunities to seize!

In terms of values, we observe that influencer marketing is self-regulating to some extent. After the years of "fake" influencers and fake campaigns, transparency and ethics will be more central than ever to the challenges of influencer marketing. The concepts of diversity and inclusion will also accompany this major global trend. Brands must be ready to integrate these concepts into their influencer strategy.

Finally, when discussing 2024 trends for influencer marketing, let's not forget to look at technology. Whether it's AI or augmented reality, these will continue to dominate the current landscape by optimizing existing platform functionalities or creating new ones.

In short, as you can see, 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting year for influencer marketing. And at So Bang, we're thrilled about it!
